Awwwh, LandA's over for the year! This meeting was getting important things done and member appreciation.
We started with our elections and party. We were gonna wrap up everything for next year and party, but we were under a time crunch that affected what we did.
So, the first important thing was... ELECTIONS! Yes indeed, our candidates spoke to the club about why they would make the best candidate for each position, and answered questions the members had afterwards. It was a bit heartbreaking to see, since we can't give everyone positions, but I'm confident that our officers will be stellar. I'm also really excited that Julia and I will be able to delegate some tasks, since it'll give us a chance to start doing our schoolwork before 1:00 AM each night. The voting ballot is on the home page of this website, and voting closes at midnight on Friday. For those of you who are running, good luck!!
After that, we gave out awards to the members that had supported us throughout the whole year. There were so many people we wanted to give awards to, but in the end we only gave out a few. Again, super heartbreaking to choose between you all, but we still wanted this gesture of appreciation. When the awards were all given out, we watched a wrap up video made from clips I filmed throughout the year. Watching this was heartbreaking too, since it summed up the good feelings, the service, and the lovely people who were a part of Love and Art this year. If you want to watch the video, it is in the PowerPoint attached below. Then, we had time for a Kahoot, so we played one about the club. This was really nostalgic, since the members who stuck through since the beginning answered all of the questions correctly while the others had to guess on some.
Man. It's a wonder my heart is still intact with all this heartache.
So, the new officers will be posted on the About Page of this website on Saturday, May 5, at 8:00 AM. We will also be getting back to you about the Arts Fest and when we'll meet to discuss that, since that is coming up too. As for you new members that came yesterday, welcome! You are joining a super awesome community, and I promise that you will fall in love with LandA the way we have.
And... I guess that's it. This is my last journal entry, since our historian will take over next year's newsletters. I really enjoyed writing these, but even greatness must retire eventually.
So, I love you all lots... and I guess I'll see you next year! Goodbye!!
Man, is it just me or is my heart starting to ache...
In case you missed out, here is an account to catch you up!
