It was a pretty last minute decision to set up a booth at the diversity showcase on March 29th.
Our spot in the showcase was confirmed the day before the event, so you can imagine how rushed our plans were. After some (very little, actually) deliberation, we decided to set up a mini demonstration of the shaving cream marbling and print some coloring pages. After sending out a Remind, we waited for the showcase.
Armed with some flyers, a huge poster, some coloring pages, and a tray of shaving cream, we set up our booth. Overall, it looked pretty good. Since we had some extra time, we explored the showcase and saw the other booths.
When the event was going on, our booth ended up being the busiest! We used up many bottles of shaving cream and made an absolute mess, but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. We rushed about, explaining things about the club and creating shaving cream art pieces, until it was time to go home. After hours of work, our exhausted team cleaned up and called it a day.
I would love to give a very special shout out to all of the volunteers who helped with the booth. It was a suuuuper last minute call, but you all pushed through and helped out with some very laborious projects. This was this event that helped me understand just how capable you all are, and this club would be nothing without you.
For those of you who learned about the club through the diversity showcase, welcome!!! You are going to be part of an amazing community, meet some awesome people, and make our town a more connected and lively place.
Welp, that's all we have time for today, kiddos. See ya at the next meeting!
